Pax figures released by both airlines in the last couple of days show that ezy are now carrying more pax per month then FR but are still losing out to FR on year figures.

Easyjet March carried 2,573,070 with a load factor of 91.2%

Ryanair March 2,565,706 with a loadfactor of 80 %

Intresting to note FR on their website have as usual used their fiures against BA showing thatthey are number 1 in March for pax carried in March, but not taken into account EZY!

This is the 3rd month that EZJ has been ahead.
EZJ does have a better mix of locations for the winter months with plent of places to ski or get warm.

Ryanair always leave Easyjet out of graphs in there annual report when it suits them.

Easyjet have also been getting a good press about how little they add in charges at the end of the booking process compared to ryanair and BA.

How will ryanair drop its tag line "Europes No1 airline" when it carries less pax than easyjet. Or will they "giveaway" more seats to grab top spot even if its at a loss. At some point the airlines will be made to give the true full cost at the start of the booking process. This should stop the 99p fares that cost Ģ30 return when a Ģ5 fare costs a total of Ģ25 with another airline.:8

I doubt Ryanair will be able to 'give away' seats, already on their website they have their last seat-sale until Autumn :hmm:

For those of you that are following the key marginal battle for which European LCC can carry the most passengers, April saw a swing to Ryanair, allowing them to re-take the top-spot with a majority of 218,661.

Easyjet in April carried 2,438,194 with a load factor of 85.2%

Ryanair in April carried 2,656,855 with a loadfactor of 81 %

Easyjet in May carried 2,551,619 with a load factor of 84.1%

Ryanair in May carried 2,904,939 with a loadfactor of 82 %

This puts Ryanair ahead by 353,320.

Didnīt EZY make a LOSS (http://pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=176031) in the first half of 2005?

"Didnīt EZY make a LOSS in the first half of 2005?"

Yeah, but they always do over the winter months!

Ryanair did not make a loss (despite lower pax numbers) so whatīs the point of making such a big deal about pax numbers? Itīs like winning a battle, but losing the war.

The bottom line for any company is making a profit, isnīt it?
