Sounds like an Air Log 206 went down after an engine failure of some sort. Sole occupant was the pilot...reported to have been picked up by a shrimp boat. Aircraft sank....pilot ok. Two day search for the aircraft but not found...search continues. Despite the aircraft being a write off and not recovered...this does not count as an accident...aircraft landed undamaged onto the water and no one got hurt.
Also a report a helicopter might be down near York, PA.....no other news yet. Latest news suggests it was a bogus report.

On Sunday, one of our CBA pilots flying a 206B made a water landing / auto to the Gulf with floats popped after a power loss. Partial power at about 600 ft followed by failure at about 100 ft. No damage at all to the aircraft except a broken windshield (that is strange I know). No blade or T/R strike. Pilot did a great job. He was sitting dry in the helo when a shrimp boat picked him up and the boom of the boat hit the helo and rolled it over. We have good pics of the helo sitting undamaged on the water before the encounter with the boat.
Then we had some fog, bad wx, and rough seas and we have not been able to recover the helo yet, though we have a boat in the area now.

Let's try and put this one to bed. One successful auto to the water vicinity SMI-243 Sun. morning. Pilot was only occupant. Pilot was recovered unhurt. Bell 206B3 was overturned by shrimp boat trying to help. Recovery attempt was not succesful due to 30-35 Kt. winds that came up quickly with a cold front passage Sun. afternoon. Search resumed Tues.when weather calmed. 1 day, 2 nite search with pinger locater equip. unsuccessful. Search called off Wed. morning then a/c spotted by ERA a/c around noon yesterday. Coast Guard was called by someone so everybody thought another a/c was in the water. Not so; same a/c. This time a/c was upside down, partially submerged. 3 bags of the 6 pack floats still holding air. Air Log started the search as quickly as possible again by boat last night. Searched again last night and all of today. NOTHING. Low ceilings, fog, high winds in the begining all hampered search. The search was again called off due continuing rotten wx. Those are the facts. Believe em or not. One good autorotation, one lost aircraft.
