The first EK 773ER arrived here in Dubai yesterday morning, I assume direct from Seattle, or wherever.

Does anyone know when the aircraft is planned to enter commercial service, and on what routes it will be used?

Additionally, will it feature the new F and J seating and layouts that currently appears on the 345?

Thanks,
A300Man

A300 man,
The aircraft did it's first revenue flight yesterday to Karachi. Went on board and spoke to gnd crew and a boeing fellow. Looks great. Didn't notice the cabin config though.

Why KHI? Just a route proving flight to let the drivers get to grips with it? I assumed it would be used on very long haul routes.

Aircraft was not planned for KHI, just so happened that another Boeing fell over, so A6-EBA picked up the schedule. First commercial service was scheduled for Manilla, not sure if that's how it remained.....

Seating is EK standard Business and Economy, however I believe that the three class aircraft will be the same / similar to the A345.

Thanks Guys. Saw the machine personally on the ground in DXB. Gleaming and shiny. Look forward to catching a glimpse of the belly when it next flies over my house.

No better vantage point than up on a Mirdif rooftop if that's where you live A300Man-2005! Just remember to duck when the IL-76's come over...... :\

The Emirates logo on the belly stands our quite well once the gear is up after take off- I was down on the Diera Corniche as it flew over. A very clever piece of advertising which I am sure other airlines will soon copy.

Didn't Emirates copy the idea from Jetstar Asia who are doing it for a while?
