Inspired by "The JetBlast mathematical formula thread" (go on, post a formula that'll really wreck their heads!) (http://www.pprune.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=168429&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)

So what is the most used mathematical formula that you use in the profession?

F=ma (otherwise known as Newton's second law).

Closely followed by incompressible Bernoulli.

Followed a little later by the Euler buckling load formula.

I've invented a few much more complicated ones of my own from time to time, but they aren't as useful (if they were, Daniel Bernoulli would probably have thought of them about 1740!).

The best ones are actually the most simple... they nicely underpin all of your considerations and decisions. Without the fundamentals, you've got nothing.:)

The most import ones are multiplication
