The Novosibirsk based Russian carrier has gone for a Low Cost image to match their status changing their name to "S7" and a bright new livery designed by Landor (They did BA's 1984-1997 livery, as well as JAL new scheme, Austrian new scheme, Alitalia, Thai old scheme, Varig new scheme), www.aviatsiya.ru/forums/album_page.php?pic_id=353

I do get a little tired of the basically white schemes of modern airlines, and this is certainly different, and striking! But---think they could have picked a nicer colour!

When you look at their route map,it comes home to you just how massive the soviet bloc actually was.

Original version of this new livery featured a yellow upper half with teh same green bottom and figures it also carried "Sibir S7" title in red with just the "S7" on the tail, it was feature don the net somewhere last year, I cant recall.

The airline operates from three hubs(Moscow and Irkutsk in Russia - Yerevan in Armenia) besides their main base at Novosibirsk.

They are also getting 737-500 and more A310's.

Egypt is a new destination, perhaps seasonal charters only.
