Little known fact - the UK police have recently (by law) had to make information available about speeding 'near misses' - when you go through certain cameras at, say 43 in a 40 limit, no prosecution may be made, but record is kept of the 'transgression'.

You can check on a website if your vehicle has any convictions or 'close calls' on record. Website here. (http://www.e-database.co.uk) The service will automatically give you a username and password if you click the appropriate area.

If you've been unlucky, it will also offer a view of the photographic evidence.

CAUTION I've checked as far as I can and I'm unable to find any evidence at all that this site contains spyware as suggested by Onan. Obviously, use at your own risk though

So (assuming this isn't just a prank) you go to a website and give all your info to see if you got away with something :confused:

Riiiiight :ok:

I hear they're doing another website where you can check if you almost got caught by the CCTV on your last shoplifting expedition :}

Thank you Jerricho. I'm enamoured to find that the Mk.1 Cortina that I owned for awhile back in the 70s is still going strong: GPX868C was caught doing over 37mph, I don't recognise the photo though. The front end's obviously been restyled plus it used to be a pale blue... :{

It says the Honda Civic I had a couple of years ago was clocked doing 83 in a 70 zone.

Bloody thing was lucky to push over 3o going down a hill.

Apparently the bloke sat next to me was doing 56 in a 50 limit last week.

He got quite upset when I showed him the official news on my 'puter. :E
