Whilst the RAF could have 'arranged' an all-girl VC10 crew, that would just be posturing for trivial reasons. If they ever happened to fly together it would be as a result of availability, nothing else....

Besides, the 'novelty' of all-girl crews is pretty demeaning to the RAF's ladies. The RAF has many very fine lady aviators* and does not need to make silly media gestures to prove it!

*particularly VC10 navs!;)

A female pilot flew the B-2A for the display at RIAT on saturday last year. Not sure if it was one of those pictured though!

You sure about the one in the right-hand seat? Looks more like an ex-C130 bloke driver I know.

Galaxy C5b display pilot at Mildenhall umpty years ago was a girlie.

Lucky to spot her in the aircrew tent - she stood 5ft 3" in her flying boots.

The AEO in the bottom left hand corner gets my vote - YES!;)

..The one front right appears to be the only knocker (ooerr missus!) amongst them....now if I had to choose one, it would be the front left one...she's cute! ;)

(edited after seeing Hobie's pic above: If my eyes don't deceive me, isn't that "2 sh*ts" herself in the middle there? ... and didn't the one on the right have a strange penchant for keeping rats or some such?)

One of the guest speakers at the "Women in Aviation" conference which took place in Dallas last week was the sole female B-1B Bone driver, Capt. Kim Black. See Aeronews.net (http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?ContentBlockID=caeaf038-b5d4-4a6e-8218-b10b89ac9c1e&Dynamic=1&Range=NOW&FromDate=03%2F14%2F2005&ToDate=03%2F21%2F2005&Category=%2Findex.cfm).

Quite rare then to see a female handle a big BONE everyday, bet that shuts the lads up at the bar.

"Photo taken over Afghanistan 2003" - typical women - nobody looking where they are going ;)

Interesting thought - an all female Nimrod MR crew - what would you say to the wet lead? :)

Talking of female pilots and pandering media opportunities: cx out the latest RAF magazine with yet another bird pilot 'exclusive: women can do it too'!!:yuk:

http://www.titanmagazines.com/raf/

The same rag pulled this stuff recently with the first female SAR pilot. What are they trying to achieve?

Are there any men doing the same job under the same circumstances out there....? Answer us.....?

Then post your entries to this mag and lets wait for our scoop.

Only if she plays rugby. Don't try it if she merely looks like she plays rugby. :ouch:
