congratulations Jinkster
Getting your license was the easy part, now the hard work starts
;)
Start applying to every company that flies aeroplanes.
Plan A.... Start with all companies in the UK and Europe. ppjn.com should give you the addresses for most. Don't just fire off CV's, try to phone them first and ask who is the chief pilot. Be persistent and try to speak to him/her then follow that up with a thank you letter and cv. Followed every week after that by a phone call! Also apply to companies like CTC who offer an airline selection and training process with a good chance of a job afterwards.
Plan B...... start looking at funding yourself either an instructor rating or type rating. Speak to all the flying schools and see if they might need people. Speak to the companies who offer self-funded type ratings, find out who their client companies are, speak to them!
Plan C... look overseas.... Pick up Flight International and look for every aviation related ad... even the small one asking for C208 engineers in Tanzania! Phone that company... never know they might need a pilot and consider you if you took the trouble to get rated and get yourself down there.
Plan D..... look at how you present yourself. Remember there are lots of people in your shoes, and its only your hard work and preparation that will set you apart from them. Start networking and ask for lots of help. People who work for the airlines can give you advice on if you are presenting the right image. If you think you are out of your depth, there are specialist airline interview coaching sessions available. All at a price, but remember nobody owes you anything!
Most important thing is to build hours... so grab whatever you can get soonest and start looking for the next job immediately!
Good luck :ok:

Best advice is to get any paid job now, even if that is in tesco/mcdonalds etc.

It took me 5 years to get a job and many people on here will tell you a simalar story.

Who knows you may get lucky and get a job in the next year or so. However, (despite my comments :O ) try and keep positive and never give up.

Well done by the way, it's a hard slog but worth it in the end.

Apply everywhere, irrelevant of what chance you think you may have.

Fly a kite in a park if you can log the hours!!

Best of luck.

I wouldn't bother with any other airline than British Airways. Advise them that you will consider the Airbus but really long haul on the 747/777 is what you're really after. Should work...

Well done mate... bet you are glad to be out of cranners!

As for the job front... apply to everyone and everything! your biggest chances are with the small operators, taxi etc. But I know guys with exactly your background that have landed jobs with big fellas too. Just keep flying and keep applying... (good time of year to start FIC! if you can handle it!)

Just keep the faith, keep your options open and keep the applications rolling!

Well done mate.

WehHeyyyyyyyyyyy! Jinkster, you Yorkshire Pudding! Well Done!

Do as we all do mate, plod on, apply to everyone!

As you know, many have gone before and have managed to get jobs, even with 200hrs. I've been out of Cranfield for 3 months now, and have had 2 interviews, there is hope, even for us very low houred pilots. Next stop for me Ops/Dispatch........

Get yourself a dispatch/operations job ASAP, now the summer season is nearly upon us! NETWORK your Yorkshire spuds off, and as many have already said, you will eventually get there.

Crack on!
