I have to go to Tanzania on business in a months time, and the flight takes me into Dar-es-Salaam. My actual destination is Dadoma, which is apparently a 6 hour bus ride (if it can be called a bus apparently).

I would really like to hire an air taxi to take me over that distance, assuming that the capital (Dadoma) has any sort of airfield.

Does anyone on here know if...
a) ...there is an airfield/airport/strip at Dadoma.
b) ...there is an air taxi company based at either Dadoma or Dar-es-Salaam.

I'm looking for a piston engined Cessna or Piper type, not a biz jet. All I'm trying to do is avoid 6 hours on a bus in pot-hole alley.

I have spent ages searching the web, and so far come up blank.

Can anyone help with this, or offer any advice??

Many thanks in advance.

Think it's more commonly spelt with an "o": Dodoma - IATA code DOD, ICAO code HTDO.

A little basic info on Dodoma airport here. (http://www.the-airport-guide.com/airport.php?icao=HTDO)

Sorry, can't recommend any air taxi companies - but a quick Google search throws up
Renair (http://www.renair.com/contactus.html) and Precision Air (http://www.precisionairtz.com/CharterSvs.html) . I know nothing about either - maybe someone else can help.

Good luck!

Thanks very much for that.

I'll make some enquiries. Their are 3 of us going, so we should be able to get an a/c for a reasonable rate. I'll make the enquiries in the morning.

Thanks again.
