To the ATC boys and girls at Joburg:

What happend to the new STAR's in Joburg? Everybody seem to get them now and no longer vectors into Joburg... For a while it was fun getting DCT JSV...expect vectors for runway...bla bla... I keep on getting that AVAGO arrival when coming from the north....Sorry to say but what a waste of trackmiles and speed., not to mention the extra fuel burn....What can we do to stop these arrivals??? Nothing personal to you people, I for one think you are doing a great job!!!

I agree that they are bad but not many other pilots have comented on them

see these 2 forums

New sids (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=164328)

and

Straight ins (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=125216)

I personally think they are cr:mad: p but have been told I'm too negative although numerous members in my pool have also complained about them. Workshops are almost non existent to have them fixed and it will be a very slow process.

Will say this now there will be no straight in approaches eventually. Even the ESTED1A is still technically a straight in approach. These will fall away with all traffic being routed to a base/downwind point and vectored from there. Easier to work the sequence and if not needed to go all the way to downwind a shortcut is given like what happens on the Imsok Arr now. But the IMSOK is actually the cause of most concern cause it crosses too many other tracks at present.

Reading the old post and saw you were given dct the 1st night you flew them. Sorry bru but that is an exeption only when you are No1 for the App now you see you not the only flight out there thats why you get std routings:ugh:
