Had the joy of talking to the last Draggy out of Oz a couple of days ago on a ferry flight via here in UAE and on to the UK via Greece (and why not!). VH-AYS was RAAF HS748 s/n 608 and is on its way to continue soldiering on with a company in the UK.

Good to see the old beasts still choofing around the place after all these years.

Really miss the wake up call of that APU in the morning at Sale.....not! Also forgot how well they climb!!!

Can't help you with that mate, left here serviceable. Not an engineer but could have been a number things oil pressure problems etc. I am sure the old girl would have coped all right on one donk, although I am sure the new owner will be hoping its only a small glitch and that he hasn't bought a lemon!

Piedmont Airlines bought a bunch of the Japanese versions....YS-11's....all their aircraft were named for cities...Greensboro Pacemaker, Charlotte Pacemaker.....nickname for the YS-11 was the Yokohoma Rice Shaker.
