Well, they better be financial for a scrap. Taking eJ on on such a route will see a major war... the orange rag to the proverbial bull!

By all means give LGW a shot, by why on Earth would you want to touch STN?! There's no contest IMO.

I agree. STN would be lunacy due to EZY and nedair from PIK. LGW would make sense.

STN would be madness.

EZY have concentrated their Gatwick operation out of EDI which means that BA have no competition on the GLA - LGW route (which is consistently full)

LGW would make sense and would no doubt prove to be very profitable

That's excellent news for GSM. Does anyone know when they are starting up the domestic flights? Gatwick would be an ideal domestic base to fly to.

My money would be on LGW. If they announced STN, I'd want to double or nothing on them withdrawing it as quickly as they pulled off ORY.

Meanwhile, LCY also remains vacant for GLA pax - for now?

Is BMI Regional not starting up London City soon?

I know GSM have slots in STN from May and LGW from October. They will start STN-PRG-STN and then move to LGW in October - from both EDI and GLA. They will be using B737-600s.

I cannot see them starting Prague from Stansted in competition with EZY (and CSA?). I suspect that the 737-600s will be used on the rumoured route from GLA to LGW and, as yet unannounced, rumoured new routes from EDI.

Here's hoping for a GLA-LGW route! With only BA on the GLA - LGW route we need some competition. I have to go to LGW on Tuesday - BA - £358 return so now having to go from EDN on EZY at £80 return. No contest for the self-employed even though I live next door to PIK. Would be nice if FR started a PIK-LGW service.

My god your annoying Joe, just because someone says a flight might be going from GLA?

Sorry, I did not explain myself correctly. They are doing EDI-STN-EDI, EDI-PRG-EDI, EDI-STN-EDI with one B737-600 and then GLA-STN-GLA, GLA-PRG-GLA, GLA-STN-GLA. STN will be replaced by LGW in October as they cannot get the slots until then……just check out the slots!

Tickets now being sold on GLA-STN and EDI-STN.

Sorry, but if GS would like to pay for an ad Moon, we would be more than happy to oblige. In the meantime they can't advertise their services on PPRuNe for free.

Interesting comparisons for a sample flight departing Glasgow Thursday 22 June around teatime and returning from Stansted at a similar time on Sunday 26 June.

Globespan: £39-98 - Basic fare 38p! Rest in taxes and fuel surcharge.

Easyjet: £40-98 - Basic fare £30-98 Rest in tax.

Ryanair (from PIK): £43-68 - Basic fare £18-48, rest in taxes, PSC, wheelchair levy.

These fares exclude credit/debit card surcharges. It is also fair to say that you can get a Ryanair flight on those dates, but at pretty inconvinient times, for £27-18 and an Easyjet flight for £35-98 by changing the times a bit...

I would have thought that there would be more call for a LGW flight giving BA a run for there money, EZY has managed this on the EDI-LGW flight. Going head to head with EZY to one of there main hubs may be a mistake, we shall see.

Sorry to drag this one back up from the depths, but to save me starting a new thread I might aswell.
I noticed that today Flyglobespan have started selling seats on the London routes for winter, the destination airport remaining as STN...

From June 1st they will be flying STN-EDI and STN-GLA,as I fly on the EDI route twice a week I beleive it is a good thing,EZY is always busy and the prices have really shot up lately booked for next week and the rtn was over £150 so hopefully some competition will bring the prices back down.
