I'm Just fishing for information here,

what are the worst jets for maintainence, AFAIK
Typhoon is about 7 MMH/FH
the Tornado is over 20
the Gripen is around 6
The Raptor around 12
JSF (estimated) 7

and are there any jets that stick in your mind as held together with string, sticky tape... and purcussive maintanence.;-)

Cheers

The F-14 has sometimes reached nightmare levels. 70 mmh/fh at one stage a year or two ago!

Whilst I'm unaware of the actual figure, the RAAF's F-111s would have to be up there with the best of them.:ok:

No idea about the mmh/fh, but I'm sure the Nimrod is up there with the best of them...

I was wondering how the Herc's might compare and found this data at the link below .....
Early model C-130s require more than 20 maintenance manhours per flight hour..... The C-130J/J-30 will require 10 or less MMH/FH

Is this the same as the claim from Rolls Royce that the new Mk 106 Adour engine will be ultra reliable, and how we'll need no spares contract, consequently we've got self eating engines that require sending back to RR for even the most simple problems due to the fact that any work carried out by the RAF will invalidate the warranty.

Genius.
