There is a rumour in the crew room that further routes cuts are to be announced at the end of S'05 - anyone heard anything?

MyTravel is owned by Airtours, so dispite what happens to MyTravel, the same routes should technically be operated, because there is a demand for the routes that pretty much only MyTravel Flies from Manchester.

This could be done with a different airline operating MyTravel, It's really all down to interest in both the airline, and it's routes.

I thought Finnair was going to take over it, as they ran the Rimini flight for a number of weeks in September 04'. Personally I think that if an airline such as this were to take over MYT it wouldn't have as many problems as it does today.

I really can't see Finnair taking over MYT - don't believe they have the capital.

To go back to the original post: of course lots of routes will be dropped at the end of S05. Just like they are at the end of every summer, until the next summer. MyTravel Airways UK is borrowing five aircraft off Skyservice Airlines and two off MyTravel Airways Scandinavia to bulk up for the summer. In the winter, we’ll be giving those back, plus lending Skyservice three or four of our own (as has been happening for years). But, as far as I know, S06 will be as big (if not bigger) than S05 at Manchester. And W05 will be on a par with W04 - so hopefully not too many worries on the job front at Manchester.

Mr @ Spotty M: MyTravelLite is a bit off topic for a post about Manchester. But, if MyTravelLite were to finish, my guess would be that those Airbuses would move to Manchester and the final B757s would be history. Personally, I hope that MyTravelLite continues at Birmingham.

I’ve got to agree with Dada: the post from Skylark_air is gobbledegook from start to finish. Starting with: “MyTravel is owned by Airtours”. Do you mean that Airtours Holidays owns the MyTravel Group?! Or are you trying to say that Airtours Holidays effectively owns MyTravel Airways UK as they provide 90% of our business? You second paragraph doesn’t even make logical grammatical sense so I’m not sure what you point was there. I guess you were just warming up for your finalé: where you reveal that you thought Finnair were going to buy MyTravel Airways UK on the basis that we subbed some flights to them in September 04. It was a lot more than a few Riminis, by the way. But even so, get a grip of yourself man.

Quote: "MyTravel is owned by Airtours"

Err, no. MyTravel Airways is the in house airline of MyTravel Group Plc. It provides seats to many of the groups tour operators ,one of which is Airtours Holidays. It also carries third party pax.

Lite will continue after S'05 but in a modified form.

Good luck to all at MYT. After the last couple of years of roller coastering I think everyone is wishing for smoother waters.

The Calgary flights still ran this winter, operated by Excel I believe. Or did you have some agreement with the CEO of MYT, cheap flights in exchange for speeding ticket waivers! ;) ;)

have heard that mylite will be wound up at the end of the summer but that bhx will be retaining 4 units on mainline, so not really a big deal.

The YYC route was/is being operated by prehistoric ex BY 762's which are now being operated by those nice chaps at air atlanta for excel for myt
