Where would one look for the airframe number on a DC-10 hulk (tail section missing).

Aircraft data plate usually in flight deck or near there somewhere.

If I remember correctly the data plate can be found on the L1 door frame.

L1 door frame is a good bet, if not there I seem to remember grovelling around in the little panel adjacent to the L1 door where you test the multiplex and the ground service electrics can be connected for a number in bygone years.
If it's been scrapped then such data may have been removed.

If you know the registration you can look here (http://bird5.bird.ch/bharms/asr_sh00.htm) or if you have access to the aircraft as stated above it will either be located at door L1 or on the Flight deck just right of the door (looking aft :D ) :ok:

L1 upper door frame is where you'll find the data plate and the info you're looking for:ok:
