Ok, the NEED for a solitary, all encompassing, pilot representative organisation (union, guild, militia(!)) has been discussed.

Now, let's get the figures.

Who would join a SINGLE PILOT UNION representing ALL professional Australian Aviators, from all levels (GA, Airlines, Corporate etc) and be run by fully paid and full-time union representatives - SPECIALISTS in negotiation, industrial matters etc etc (not necessarily pilots) - in order to assert, protect and establish pilot pay and conditions in Australia.

Just a pipe dream? Probably.

Now you're either YES or NO.

Woomeri, please set up a poll!

Where is the poll?

All my life I would have to say that I have'nt been a strong supporter of unions, but given the situation in Australian Aviation at the moment, I would have to say YES to a united union.

Cheers, HH.

The poll is a good idea . Perhaps though it would be nice if some of the more experienced pilots could advise on whether the qantas pilots could come back into the fold. I'd imagine there'd be quite a few dollars at stake.

There's a building in Sth Melbourne in which quite a few QF pilots arguably have some equity. Keep talking!

G'day ;)

How would a single ANZAC union go? Single aviation market?

With 2300 members in their union, I don't think it is the Qantas Pilots who have to come back in to the fold.

It is time for others to think about joining them. They have the numbers and the muscle.

AIPA has muscle..I don't think so.

One organisation/union/collective/guild only.

No returning to the 'fold'.

A new start, a stronger mission. All encompassing. Run by employed SPECIALISTS - serving the pilots' interests.

And I don't mind the idea of making it a pan-tasman organisation at all. Stops the possibility of undermining/undercutting each other.

Keep the ideas coming.

Everyone seems to be keeping the issue 'clean', so Woomeri, where's the poll?????

The AFAP is already a fact for anyone interested. This is a much reformed organization from the old days in how it works. It has paid professionals doing the job for members. If the members remember to take good note of their professional helpers advice, then the organization will work well for them; especially if the main agenda of supporting all Pilots is not hijacked by any special interest group. It is already waiting there for you. Just join up. No poll required..... vote with your actions!

Done. We'll run it for a couple of weeks and see how it goes;)
