I understand that the recruitment ban for joining CX is still in force, but is it true that if a pilot joins CX during the ban then they can't ever be a member of the HKAOA? And what about the cadets? What if the case was that the cadet started their training with the company before the ban was put into place but after the cadet completes the training and actually joins the company, the ban is in place?

I don't think the ban applies to cadets.

Not only are you banned from joining the HKAOA, but you are banned from joining any union that is a member of IFALPA......The ban is for life!! Better be sure on your decision to go to CX.

i hear the cadets are coming back and collecting rust. also heard cx claims they have a redundancy amoung of pilots.

I heard they have a surplus of 250 pilots but will not take/need to take any action if the forecasted economic improvement occurs in summer 2002. Although airline jobs are scarce, I believe corporate jobs are still available and could be of high demand in the near future. <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

whats the AOAs latest move?
For KK and others,
Ban is still active, however CX wont employ anyone under the current conditions of the Ban. Probably a good thing!! I have recently been in contact with recruitment and no immediate plans for course dates in 02. I have been accepted in mid 01, however like many others I am in a holding pattern. Many rumours floating around i.e possibility of droping S/O's all together and having a team of solely Capt/F/O's, sit tight and be patient, every chance of employment in 02.

Maybe because too many guys called in sick and they haven't figured out yet that they are only scr**ing their buddy and not the company! :) :)

How long in advance do you think leave was being cancelled? And how long in advance do you think people book off sick?
Try thinking before typeing otherwise your likely to look like the idiot you are!

I think you’re in to deep and should pull back and get some oxygen.
Have you ever had your leave cancelled in your previous career? I have several times and on occasion with short notice for operational reasons. Learn to live with it! It sucks but it happens.
I will never phone in sick because I don't "feel like going flying" or I have "something else I want to do". This is very unprofessional and not a method that should be used against the company. And, yes it still sc**ws your buddy. But then you must be one of the many pilots in CX that are self-centered.
I also never realized being honest and professional made you look like an idiot. I obviously have much NOT to learn in CX.
