Hey every one ! New to the forum. I am doing my AS levels in Maths, Physics, ICT & Italian. Next year I will be applying for university...I am looking forward to study Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering but I need some advice:
Generally I hear people say that there is a limited careers opportunity if you graduate in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering , and you don't really need an AE degree to become a pilot....Well I am looking forward to study Aeronutical engineering and I am pretty sure I will enjoy it as I like challenging stuff !!!
Would the AE degree help me to get a decent job in Airbus or BAE Systems for example ? Or would it help me for a career in flight engineering ? Or any other careers related to aviation ?
I will be applying for uni this time next year and this is the COURSE (http://www.ic.ac.uk/p1580.htm) I would like to do at Imperial College (hopefully)
Or would you reccomend a FdEng Aircraft Engineering BEng(Hons) Aircraft Engineering ‘top-up’ (http://www.kingston.ac.uk/~kuweb/undergraduate/courses/h410.htm) course at Kingston ?
(I know Bath, Cambridge for example are ranked higher for AE courses, but I am looking for unis in London)
After the 4 year degree, if i decide to become a commercial/corporate pilot where should I apply?
I'll probably have more questions later on...Cheers
