Passengers were trapped inside a 21-seater plane today after it failed to depressurise on landing in Townsville.

Fire, ambulance and police units were called to the airport after cabin attendants discovered they could not open the aircraft door at 6.27am (AEST).

Police Sergeant Kim McCombe said airport workers managed to free the door after almost half an hour.

The plane belongs to ******, a small airline that services regional Australia.

Pretty good seal if it stayed pressurised for 30 minutes after, I assume, the engines were stopped?!:eek:

Of course, I'm jumping to conclusions, but doesn't every pressurised aircraft have a manual px realease switch/button to open the outflow valve?

Maybe it took 30 minutes to find it?:E :p

Guess Engineering better replace squat switches, or pilot. Which ever is cheeper?
So 30 mins on the ground in TVL, guess the pax were pretty pissed and hot.
