Have an irritating problem.
When I click on a link to a .pdf file with MSIE or Avant I get a blank page with just the little coloured square in the top left.
The file does not auto download or offer to do so with the usual options of 'open' or 'save to disk'.
If I right click on the link then I can successfully save the file to my HDD so I CAN get them.
I've a firewall in the Netgear Router and have looked through its controls; switched off the PC Virus scanner and looked through the controls in the browsers and cannot find a cure.

Any ideas why .pdf files won't auto download?

How long are you giving it? Sometimes it seems to take my computer (and IE) forever before enough of the file has come down to fire up the Acrobat Reader plug in - and even then there may be much more to download. I've taken to always right-clicking and saving the file first if I can - much faster, even when left-clicking works.

I had this problem recently.

Try installing the latest Acrobat Reader 7.0. It worked for me.

You will get it here
