It's going to be a long and uncomfy few years for this girl ... :uhoh: Cape Town - A Pretoria woman was arrested at Cape Town International Airport after allegedly admitting to having swallowed cocaine "bullets" with a street value of about R1.9m.
Adrian Lackay of the SA Revenue Service said the 34-year-old woman had stepped off a flight from Buenos Aires on Monday morning and was asked to fill in a declaration form at customs.
He said: "She appeared extremely nervous.
"During an interview with customs officials and police, she allegedly admitted to swallowing 80 bullets of cocaine."
The consignment was one of the largest found on one individual at the airport and was the ninth such arrest in the past few months.
By noon on Monday, X-rays taken at a Cape Town hospital had confirmed that about 80 bullets of cocaine were in her stomach. :uhoh:
She was to remain under police guard at the hospital until all of the cocaine had been removed. :E
Lackay said the woman was likely to be charged with smuggling and was due to appear in court after her release from hospital.
