According to today's issue of La Prensa, Aeronáutica Civil is considering permanently banning Aero Honduras from serving Nicaragua after the airline suddenly suspended service to Managua last Tuesday without prior notification to Aeronáutica Civil.

Last year, the same enterprise operating under the name "Sol Air" also suddenly suspended service to Managua without notifying the regulatory authories. At that time, the director of Aeronáutica Civil, Captain Orrín Watson, sanctioned the airline and banned them from flying to Nicaragua.

In the article, Captain Watson said, "It's difficult to authorize them to operate in Nicaragua again, given that it's the second time that they do something like this. I say difficult, because in the end, the decision to allow them to operate or suspend them permanently lays with my superiors at MTI (Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure) and I cannot say by myself, however, in reality it will be very difficult to authorize."

After posting my article, did a little more on-line research. Looks like AeroHonduras is on the carpet with the authorities in their own country also. :oh:

PJ,

Somethings will never change. It looks like AeroHonduras will be ok in Honduras, though.
