CX HIRES DIRECT ENTRY FO"S FOR NEW YORK

I just received an e-mail from a mate of mine who has been hired on as a direct entry fo to be based in JFK. Now I may be wrong and I am sure that the conditions have changed since my "Conditions of Serivce Briefing" @ ole Kai Tak! a few years back but aren't f/o's granted seniority over s/o's. I also have a best bud who just became an s/o a few months back. If I am him I am PISSED at someone getting JFK baseing while I weather away in HK!

Well your Mate got hired by CX Freighters, and managment fooled him by telling him he MAY sign over to Mainline after 3 years...

The DE FO you speak of must have been hired on the frtr. There are no more FO spots in JFK for the pax fleet and there is no hiring straight onto a particular base for the pax fleet, everyone starts off in HK. If he was hired to fly frtrs then his seniority is below the SO that was hired ahead of him. There are a couple of things that have been fixed around here, unfortunately not enough things!
