Glad that you all like it: that's our pad at Mt Hotham Ski resort, where we shuttle skiers to and from Falls Creek, another resort owned by the same company. Skiers lift tickets are valid on both resorts, so they get to use both ski fields for the price of the flight. Two hour drive, or six minute flight :D

We've got a 35000lt JetA1 tank for refuelling at the pad, only "trap" for the unwary is the mesh deck doesn't hold ground cushion, so OGE hover on take off, at 6000ft amsl. 7 years of operation, and two knee ligaments, only two unscheduled RoN's :)

The B206 was visiting on a film job, normally the BK has it all to itself :cool:

Do they actually land in those positions or have they been pushed into the corners afterwards? Also, what kind of hazards are there with differences in ground effect around the disc?

As mentioned, there is no ground effect, as the pad surface is a grid mesh. Normally the 117 has the pad to itself, but I shut the 206 down in the corner then the 117 came in when the 206 blades were secured. Tail rotor authority is always an issue at 6000' DA, but the 117 has -C blades, which are heaps better than the -B items :D

Lots of room, really: nothing like the fun putting two Alouettes on the same offshore pad, off Warri (Nigeria).......:rolleyes: ;)
