Chaps

Lots of talk last night in Scarletts of a punch up in the cockpit of an Air-India Airbus A310-300 just after landing at Dubai International Airport yesterday. It seems that there was some sort of debate between the Capt and FO, and whilst the aircraft was taxying to the gate, the Captain turned around and either punched or slapped the First Officer!!!

Let's hope there was no blood spilled. I know there's two sides to every story, but surely the Captain must be reprimanded or even fired for this, unless the FO has done something incredibly serious and deserved it?????

The plane was then supposed to continue onwards to either BAH or KWI. Not sure.

Hi AVIACO,
this could be a re-run of what happened & posted on this site 19th November last year or there could be something serious with Air India on the DXB sector. Could it be the weather? or one of those wind-assisted F/Os with godfathers at the HQ?

Oh dear, whatever it was, it aint good!!! Have heard several other people talking about it today as well, so it appears to have been true.

Methinks next time I am flying to BOM, I might go on EK.........even GF!

Sorry mate all the GF flights are full. Thats why its a 330/340 now instead of 320. Better try Virgin or BA.

Gf should have bought the 747 years ago for the Dahrans.

The Captain should be terminated!! He doesn't have the right to exert his authority in such manner to any body! Period

He is an as-------ole and he shouldn't be flying!

Enough!:yuk:

....sigh.........

I wasn't really condoning the captain's actions, although there are possibly thousands of reasons (including phsychological ones) why he did what he did.

Still, I agree, it's no excuse. I was just reporting what I thought was some interesting gossip that I heard in the pub.

vfenext - I am based temp in DXB, so flying on BA or VS to BOM is not really an option, and tell me about GF!!!!! It's been impossible getting a seat on them. Slightly off topic, but isn't BD starting BOM soon too?

The F/O probably forgot to call the Capt "Sir"

Last time I jump seated on AI, I was stunned to hear the F/O address the Capt by Sir this......... and Sir that..........
Hostee comes in and says do you want coffee sir

Laughing out aloud was hard to control. Especially when picturing myself addressing my Capt's as Sir. I'd probably get a slap for calling them Sir.

In which other airlines do you have to address the Capt as Sir?

No problems. I knew what you meant anyway. Does anyone know if any action was taken against the Captain for this incident thus far?

Does anyone have the details as to where the flight originated, where was it heading for and the time of arrival. Also the date when it happened. Could be an interesting one to read as well.

I don't know exactly, but I was told "by bloke down pub" that it was an A310, originating in TRV onwards to DXB, and final destination KWI.

But, I can't confirm that.
