Jet/Sahara To Take SAA A340s?

A340-200's I presume? Thought they were keeping them? What about all the talk of putting the new lie-flat beds on these aircraft, and all the proposed new routes? The plot sickens, er... thickens!

I too am confused!

Originally 5 of these aircraft were on an interim lease from Airbus pending the delivery of SAA's own A340-600's and A340-300's.

Then the airline got a 6th aircraft (they are all ex-Lufthansa) and it seemed that the aircraft would stay in the fleet for a while to come. Now there is talk of getting rid of them again...
