Only rumors, but due to ups losing planned land for future
hub to royal mail at ema, they are moving sticks to CVT or doncaster anyone have any thoughts on the credability of these
rumors, the lease on the current hub does not last forever as the
airport want it for terminal space.

Hmmm, unlikely to be Coventry. Very limited parking there at night with their freighters & the Thomsonfly B737s parked up, certainly nowhere to park a B767-300F, thats if the runway is long enough for it land/depart which I doubt it.

Have heard none of this - as far as I'm aware the future for UPS at EMA is bright. I was under the impression that once we'd moved over to this 'planned land' Royal Mail would occupy our Hub.

I believe the plan is still to expand into a similar sort of complex to that of DHL's but on the East Ramp. Also, given that there's likely to be a WhiteStar 767 from March onwards it suggests volume's heavy and EMA is still very much in the plans for UPS.

More than anything else though it'd mean a loss of job since I have too many comittments to re-located.

:ugh:

Is it on good authority that we've definately lost this land?

whilst there is a rumour that PO want land down the east end my guess is that there is still plenty of room to expand, whatever happens the apron would have to extend anyway-do not think terminal expansion would go on at that end either, due to inability to link central/east aprons-as to going to Coventry!

We seem to getting hold of the land directly opposite the brokerage facility at the east end of the airport for a car park. perhaps we will be building a hub around that.

As far as I was aware the terminal extension is planned to go west and then south around the tower.

What's the latest on the UPS east ramp? Any progress-we're all looking forward to a bigger UPS presence.

Ok, I belive Post Office have indeed got the land UPS were planning on getting. To this end, UPS will now be situated even further East of the planned site but, obviously (!), before the motorway starts.

I hear it's been given the go-ahead so it'll only be a matter of time before things start to get moving.
