Decided to try (my first) 'clean install' of XP yesterday - main system runs Win 2000 pro. Installed XP in partition 3 of Primary Master (2000 is in partition 1 of disk 2, (slave)).
Install appeared fine (users set up, programmes being installed, etc etc.) UNTIL I tried to run 2000 again from the dual-boot menu - and it took until this PM to rebuild it! All sorts of system files missing, Network connections destroyed, and it took hours with the 4 'rescue' floppies to sort it out, so only just back on line.
What did I do wrong? I would like to uninstall it as well and have a quiet think, but osuninst.exe cannot find "The procedure entry point DeactivateActCtx................." It should not be THAT difficult!
