I found at Pilot Warehouse.com the CX "interview package" for 66.9 pounds or 125 USD. The package is HTBJ and the CX interview. Is this what I need to have a shot at passing the initial and 2nd interview? I am hoping for an interview this year for DE FO. Thanks

That and a whole lot more. I went to my basement and dug my old college books and found some very usefull books like aerodynamics for naval aviator, advance metereology, mental math for pilots and some college notes. You also get a lot of informations from this website about 747 and 340 aircrafts.

I am looking for Handling the Big Jets and Capt XYZ Cathay interview prep. I called the Aviation book store in Toronto that many have suggested but they are sold out of both. I also looked at the CX package at the PilotWarehouse but I don't think the Cathay prep book is the one that everyone recommends. Anyone have any suggestions?

AADriver:

I ordered HTBJ and XYZ from Aviation World in YYZ Sunday afternoon.

The guy with whom I spoke told me that the books were in stock then... Hope I didn't snake that last ones!!

But on a good note, the guy also told me that they get those books by the pallet load, so hopefull it is not too long before they are in stock.

Good luck finding them, man are they ever hard to find over here!!!

How about the ORD store in the Hilton ar ORD? I guess that was probably your first stop....

Thanks for the reply's. I got both books today from Calgary Pilot Supply. They seem to have plenty of both. Aviation World in YYZ is sold out for now and I couldn't wait.
Thanks again to all that replied.

Try this out.
If you need some interactive media and have a reasonably fast internet connection it might be interesting to use. Paste it into your browser and go to high speed flight.

I would suggest reading Handling the Big Jets.

Good luck

Dashtrash,
I believe the 10th edition is currently available. However I recall it just having some updated info on Cathay and the majority of the text and all the example questions are still the same so the 9th edition is still good enough. Latest company info can be found on the web.

Congrats on the interview! Do you mind telling us what your hours and a/c type are currently?

QNH1013, Thanks for the info. For your ref about 5000TT, 3500ME 2000Turb C500 and now Dash8. Have heard of people with much more hours but can't get a look in and people with less getting in. Maybe just names come out of the hat?!?!
