Hello to all !!

I heard some rumours that Cathay prefer not to hire any Americans because most will quit within a few years to work for the U.S. carriers.

Am I at a disadvantage since I live in the U.S?

3000 hours, 1500 of them with an airline, and can't even get an interview.

Let me in on what you guys know.

Thanks

There are several Americans working for CX on the freighter side. As for Mainline there are about 10-15 Americans but I can name more off the top of my head who have left than who are working here!

From your post your time will not qualify you to go direct entry to the freighter, you should have enough time for an SO position, but I do not know of the last time CX did SO interviews in the USA?

Have you gotten an application? Some times it takes a year from app, to interview

If you are really keen, and can handle HKG life, you may have a shot, but if you are just into it to move up the ladder and then go back to the USA for another Jet job, CX is not interested in you, as many of your compatriots have set the precedent!
