They should hand over the market to BMed would do ok with their A320's on the route, but then again, more traffic for Saudi Arabian so all the Brit expats who avoided SV now have no choice for direct service but to fly with them.

A320's to Saudi???
I really dont think you would get an Arab on one, not when they barely appreciate the service offered in First Or Club World as it is!!!

Air France are operating A320's from RUH to CDG!

I believe that the BA decision has more to do with security concerns than load factors!

The AF flight is an 319 ER of its dedicate prodcut range aimed at the 'executive' market flying to oil & gas destinations. It has 84 seats mixed C and Y with better seating than your normal A319/320 - so the expats from UK have an option to SV!

I doubt if an A319LR business class can compare with a 777 one, be it of SV, yes the level of service may differ, add the stop at CDG, makes for a rather unattractive service when you have a direct option on a wide body aircraft, better would be to fly Lufthansa or some other European carrier using bigger aircraft on the routes.

AF only use the A319LR to Riyadh, JED is an A330-200 via Cairo.
