You are to be congratulated on posting a collection of superb images.
Particularly like to first one......echoes of a standard "PR" highly posed Air to Air job.....but with a leafy branch in the foreground !!!

Well done

Very very nice photos. I might spend a day at Leeming later this month, as it is one fo the few RAF bases I have not been to yet.

Why no Grobs? Surely the AEF is part of the Station?

Congrats - You captured an F-3 with Tanks on! A most rare find As is the GR sans Jugs!

Nice pics.
Anyone care to tell a humble civvy what the GR [pic 5] has hanging off the wings?
I can see the tanks, and is that a TIALD pod on the fuselage? That leaves 4 about which I have no clue.
Of course if you could tell me but then have to kill me.... I'll happily remain blissfully ignorant :)

The outer-wing stations on the GR.4 in question are occupied by - IIRC - BOZ-107 chaff/flare dispenser(right wing) and Skyshadow ECM pod(left wing).

Smoketoomuch - the other pod on the underfuselage station is a CBLS which is used to carry practice bombs.

The long thing above the tank on the wing is a sidewinder launcher rail (minus missile)

Many years ago, I remember a UAS chap at St Athan videoing his mate doing aerobatics in a Bulldog. There was a Phantom taxiiing in the background. I think he was taken to Siberia to work in the mines. How times have changed.

Quite appropriate for an image of a Typhoon to be on a website called www. aircraft inaction.com - or have I just misread that?

Joking aside, really nice photos, which will go into my research bank for future painting projects

Why no Grobs? Surely the AEF is part of the Station?
And so are the 100 Sqn Hawks. So here are some pics of both squadrons

That first picture of the hawk just looks so nice! I love seeing the black hawks against a stormy sky. Somehow, it just "works".

Just out of interest, what is that stuff that looks like masking tape in a cross that I often see on the top of helmets?

Chromate

Military aircrew have light reflective tape on their flying helmets.......have done for at least 25 yrs now. That it what you see in the piccies.

Thanks for that :O Leeming isn't the best known base so its nice to give it a little bit of showing.

Very nice indeed - well framed, perfectly focused. Digital or celluloid?

Thanks. The photos were taken using a Canon EOS10d which is of course digital.

Excellent pix!

. . . and also at Leeming, some time ago, Basil further reduces his chances of sampling the Rhosneigr nightlife by attempting to board from the wrong side :O
