I'm told that GB Airways have now chosen a cadet to go to FTE Jerez for their inaugral internal pilot training scheme...

There was a thread on this when the scheme was first announced - the deal is as follows:

Anybody who has 1 or more years employment experience (in any capacity) is eligible to apply. The succesful candidate will finance the cost of training (with the bulk of the loan being underwritten by GB, the rest being unsecured through HSBC) - however, GB will guarantee a job upon successful completion as a First Officer onto the Airbus A320/A321 fleet. GB will finance the full cost of the JOC course and the type rating. Succesful applicants will join GB on the full starting salary for a junior First Officer (about 35k)

It's looking likely that GB will be continuing this scheme for more cadets in the future but please note that this is only for current employees with one year or more with the company. However, if you're looking for a way into commercial aviation, it might not be a bad idea to have a crack at joining GB in some capacity (e.g. Cabin Crew) to try and secure a position in future recruitment drives.

Just thought I'd mention it in case nobody else had heard about this!
