I am travelling from MAN to DEL in April on business and have been offered 3 options. Anyone have any thoughts on which offers the best service?

BA (world traveller plus) via LHR £1200
LH (business) via FRA £1400
KL (business) via AMS £1400

Well, having just done this exact journey direct and indirect.

My experience is it comes down to the time taken to get there. It isnt worth flying business if the connections are bad. LH longhaul is excellent, short haul is not. BA WTP+, actually very comfortable and good service although the food is economy rubbish. Flight time is only about 7.5 hours though. KLM, never used.

I would not use KLM, personally. Service is not great, even in business.

LH business would be very good, agree that their short haul isn't great, but its only a hop from MAN to FRA and back.

BA WTP is a good permium economy service - but not on a par with LH business (nor Club World.) No flat bed, if you wish to sleep.

So, unless the connection via FRA is horrendous, I'd go for LH - the extra £200 is not a lot to pay for the difference in service. What was the quote for BA Club World?

just remember when you arrive that you will have a long wait at immigration when you get to delhi. we went march 2004 on air miles with lh. but it was in economy and i would never do it again. it was terrible. awful food and no personal ife. however all this was soon forgotten as we checked into the imperial hotel. stay there if you can, it is fabulous.

Did you get a quote for any of the middle eastern carriers such as Emirates and Qatar....service is generally a lot better than european carriers and tickets also cheaper!

We did a project in India and flew the route a lot. The cognescenti went Emirates - broke the journey, just time for a shower in Dubai, cheaper than BA, less likely to be overbooked in Club, and as good or better (depending on personal prejudice).
