I've had this before with NIS2004, but decided to splash out £30 on NIS2005 to see if it had resolved the problem.

Running an AMD2400+ with 1GB Mem. Formatted C: and installed XP Pro (kosher version) and SP2 (from SP2CD). Installed modem, then NIS.

Once NIS is upto date, tried www.windowsuodate.com to download the latest files to supplement SP2.

The Files will download, but it hangs when trying to install them. Before SP2 I could see where it had downloaded the files to, but since SP2, I can't find the downloaded files (WUTemp) folder.

Anyone any ideas.

I've reformatted and installed ZoneAlarm Pro and AVG, and don't get the problem.

Does NIS treat auto download/install as an attack????
