A lot of your countrymen are living in BAH and work for Uncle Sam;)

Use the search function and you will find substantial material on BAH.

Quality of life is what you make it; it can be as good or as miserable here as any other place I suppose. I personally prefer to live here rather than in Dubai, but that's just my personal preference. I'm having a blast here.

The F1 Club is right off Exhibitions Road. Despite the name, the only resemblance to Formula One racing is a mighty big poster of JP Montoya. There's a pretty decent band playing there, and they serve a very mean Bullfrog. Food's good too.

My favourite watering hole in Manama is presently Sherlock Holmes at the Gulf Hotel. Reason being that they show Italian footy, and I've got a mate here who's a die hard Viola fan and he's turing me into one too. Warblers at the Baisun is also cool, especially on Mondays where they serve a huge buffet free of charge. JJ's Irish Pub at Al Bustan does free buffets at Sunday's and Tuesday's (does it show I'm a cheap bachelor with very little in the way of cooking skills?) and it's a nice place. Favourite night clubs are Liquid and BJ's. Plenty of action to choose from. One thing has surprised me though, the number of Thai prostitutes. They seem to be bloody everywhere, and for one who is not at all turned on by Thai's (or Asians in general, but that's just my personal preference and has nothing to do with racism) it can get a little long in the neck. However, they generally don't chase you around so if you're not looking for company they'll leave you alone, which is nice.

Most spouses don't work. There are of course the possibility to do so, but frankly I'm not too hot on the whole sponsorship thing. Someone else might be able to fill you in.
