Has anyone else noticed the lack of security staff at manchester ?

Went through terminal 1 the other day and the queue's were out of the door - only one metal detector working.
When enquiring as to why this was the case the security man told me that they are cronically under-staffed and that that is all they could run.
They had asked for overtime but this had been rejected by the management and so this was the result. !

Maybe another visit by the BBC ?

Erm , i think the BBC were highlighting alledged security failures, not the length of the queue to search area...

Typical, more interested in saving money, than running an airport.

Whats happened to all these savings they made after they sacked all the old security staff.

So say's the slug .............

autoglide,

I am aware of what the bbc highlighted, but I think 'cronically under staffed' could be if not already a security failing .
