Rumor has it that a person told another person who told another person "that Sergio Sikorsky had been in the former Soviet Union recently having something to do with new discoveries in tip-driven technology. Perhaps some of the first new developments we will see in tip-driven technology will be in the unmanned area. I believe Sikorsky has just acquired a company that specializes in this area."

:ok:

Sergei Sikorsky is Igor's oldest son, and now lives in Arizona.

Tip jets, Huh? Rumors have a life of their own!

Joe Pike is presently restoring a Hiller Hornet to flight worthy standard in Apple Valley CA. I didn't see Sergio anywhere in sight. I beleive that he may have already gotten it airborn.

Does anyone know where one might find a Hiller Hornet tip Jet engine? Or how to get in contact with Joe Pike?

You can reach Joe Pike through Heavy Lift Helicopters in Apple Valley. (ph. 760-240-1074). Donna will answer the phone. She should be able to forward you through to Joe. Joe also has a flying HUP. Good Luck

1/ Who is the person?

2/ What is the helicopter?

3/ Is this of significance to Frank Robinson?

NickLappos

The person is Sergei Sikorsky, who lives a few miles away from the helicopter plant, THAT is of significance!

Well, maybe. There is more than one person in the picture, and it wasn't clear to me which Dave was asking about. Who is the one sitting in the seat?

No that's not me. I'm better looking

How come lu never posts about their rotor head ?.

Mainly it has very few problems. It is subject to ground resonnance just like other flex rotors and this is due to poor maintenance. The one killer is when a damper is improperly serviced.

I believe the rotorhead was not designed by Hughes. I was told when I worked at Hughes that the rotorhead came off an autogyro. I think it was the McCullough autogyro.

Is it a No-No to post a link to another forum? :{ Yes.

Whatever; this is the gist of the linked page.

The vid of the 'Exec 162-ski' at Police_show.avi (http://www.copter.com.ua/video/police_show.avi) (4MB) is worth a look. Impressive agility (or perhaps there was a special on Stolichnaya that week...!).

To Dave_Jackson

I couldn't see either the vertical or horizontal stabilizers when looking at the video.

Did the designers find another design on the bottom of a Stoli or what?

Heli-Ice,I couldn't see either the vertical or horizontal stabilizers when looking at the video. Interesting,

Neither vidio shows tail feathers, but the Tech Specs show a VS and Port side HS.

On the other forum, it was said "I am glad to see the ZA-6 survived in some form." Perhaps the video and pictures are of the original ZA-6 and the Tech Specs are of a new replicant called the AK1-3.
