Have Airmadrid got the A-340?

And is it true that they are going to get A-320 are they starting low cost in Europa with them?

They are expecting two A340-300 (they are due to arrive early next year).
They will start flying to Guayaquil and Sao Paulo from 17 January and they have no plans to get A320 or any other type of short-range plane for the near future.

Regards.

Two A 340 - 300 to arrive shortly to add to current 2 A330 - 200

Mallorcan tour company OPTURSA now owns 80% of the company

As well as Guauyaquil and Sao paolo , there is some talk that they will fly to China sometime in 2005

No, they don`t have any code share agreement with any other company.
Optursa has at the moment 100% of the company (they bought the remaining 20% that was in hands of Herminio Gil- one of the company founders).

On 14 May Air Madrid will launch new flights from its Madrid base two new caribbean destinations : Varadero (Cuba) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). It is also considering to start new long-haul flights to Thailand and India while Air Europa and Air Plus Comet got the clereance from the Spanish Civil Aviation to operate direct flights from Spain (MAD) to China (PEK and PVG).
Spanair is also in talks to start flight from Barcelona to PEK/PVG.

I thought they were already flying to Punta Cana. Saw an A330-200 of them twice overthere.

They flew to PUJ last summer but stopped their flights at the end of october. BTW, Air Madrid will finally dropped Rio on January 17 and will not start their flights to Sao Paulo (the government of Brazil has not authorised the company to sell tickets from there).
There are rumours saying that the company is considering new short-haul jets and start operations from the UK and Germany to the Balearics, however nothing is confirmed yet.
Keyvon, where have you got that information about new flights to Varadero and PUJ from may 14?
