Airline connecting Question

Hi,
My girlfriend is coming to see me sometime next year, she is from Dominican Republic and needs to get a connecting flight from Santo Domingo-New York-Manchester. This is operated by Delta fisrt leg and BA second leg.

My question is i know she will need a Visa for UK but what about when she gets to New York? how does that work? surely she wont need a visa for that country as well? ANy info and advise much appriciated

I believe you do need a visa, even to pass through the US in transit. This has affected people flying from the UK to New Zealand, even though they were carrying on with the same flight (via LAX).

Not sure about any visa waiver arrangements between the Dominican Republic and the US, but doubt they exist.

If the paperwork's too much hassle, you might want to advise other routes. Assuming no option of boarding home leg of a charter flight, going via MAD or CDG might be a better option - both have direct flights.

Was thinking the worst, i tried the home leg charter flights but you need to have british passport for that. Ill look into those other connections thanks jabird

Transit without Visa TWOV has been temporarily suspended in the US so your parnter will require a visa inorder to transit the US...howabout if she takes a flight from Domincan Rep to Kingston then connects with Bwia??? No visa required to transit Jamaica as long as she does it within 3 days
