Durham-Tees Valley Airport has been shut down for several hours after a security alert.
Suspicions were raised by a 35-year-old Libyan man who was trying to travel to Heathrow Airport.
Security staff were concerned about his baggage and a controlled explosion was carried out as a precaution.
