Hi
Just 2 quick questions. When you come up for upgrade from S/O to F/O do you get to bid for what aircraft type you would like to go on to.

E.G.
say you are on the 747-400 as a S/O, can you bid to go the 737 domestic as a F/O or do you have to go up to F/O on international firtst say on the 767or A330.

Also what is the average time to F/O from S/O?

Thanks

Hey TD,
In short, yes. In fact, after starting on the -744 as an S/O, it is company policy for promotion to be on another type - 737, 767 or on bus... Time to promotion varies, from as little as 12 months (a few years back - quicker! but not common) to be junior on the 767, maybe closer to 2 years now - not sure. 2-3 years for the maggot. The bus is 6 or so years - i think.
:ok:

744 was eight years (with experience on another company aircraft as F/O) a couple of years ago but with no F/O training on the 744 in the last 12 months, it's now out to 10....and counting! :{ Damned uni degree and wanting to finish it before I put a bid in! :}

I wonder how long before a Woomeri punts this into the 'Question' forum? :E

Thx for the responses.
Sorry Woomera, I posted here by accident. Happy for you to move it to Questions.
