Doha: Air France will suspend its twice weekly flights between Doha and Paris from January 12, just over six months after having re-launched the route.

A circular sent by Bernard Bazot, general manager, Middle East at Air France, to airline customers, stated: " Unfortunately, all surveys conducted show that we shall not be able to reach a break-even situation on this route at a reasonable notice considering its market environment. At the same time, from April 1, we shall increase our flights between Paris- Charles de Gaulle and Dubai, offering an alternate solution with day flights as well as night flights in both ways."

The circular further states that as passengers from Doha booked for Air France flights to Paris after January 9 can have their tickets re-routed via Dubai or refunded without penalties. As an incentive, members of Air France' Frequence Plus frequent flyer programme, who opt to have their flights re-routed via Dubai, will be offered double FFP miles between January 10 and March 31, for travel between Dubai and Paris.
