New,

From 1st of February 2005 new LCC will begin operations from Poland - Centralwings, the LCC fully owned by Polish Airlines LOT.

The Centralwings will use 5 B737-300 and -400 leased from LOT, they will fly lowcost and charter from Warsaw-Okecie airport.

Yet another "network" airline sets up its own LCC - like BA/go; BD/bmi baby; SK/snowflake etc etc.

Centralwings may fare better now that Air Polonia have disappeared, but is it really a good strategy to have a LCC arm rather than the whole airline being "Cost Concious"?

Not if you do like AC and create Tango but insufficently distinguish it from mainline, giving the LCCs 320s while retaining 737s and 146s...

Is this the former Polishwings? - the joint proposed LH/LO venture? or now just a LO venture on their own.

Is this the former Polishwings

As far as I'm aware there never WAS a 'Polishwings' - it was a guessed-at name by a Polish journalist, who turned out to be a little wide of the mark.
