I see that Mervyn Walker BA's UK Airports Director has left and the company states that it was nothing to do with the chaos at Heathrow in August. He made the decision a couple of months ago.

I saw this in the Sunday Times today, can any BA people in the know explain why the company has....

a Director of Operations and customer service
a Director of UK airports
a Director of Operations at Heathrow

seems excessive to this unfortunate shareholder

Because it means you've got to sack the first two before you can lay any blame at the door of the first one. Job protection, the story of BA management.

Mervyn Walker is/was a lawyer and will no doubt have a suitable position lined up elsewhere with a healthy exit cheque.

Shouldnt imagine there will be any grieving by the staff,- after all not many of them would even recognise him.
