Aero Medical and Medevac Flights

Ppruners; a question:

Anyone out there got information on any JAA Regulations or CAPs etc regarding Med Flight Operations in EU ? I see in USA there is a trade association called CAMTS that appears to inspect aero med operations, do we have anything similar over this side of the pond apart from Airworthiness notes to permit specialist equipment fits.

Thanks for your help. Thought this forum was more apt than Medical.

Not currently as far as i know, but there is some progress going on. German ADAC has set some guidelines according to helicopter outfits and crew training but nothing official there also. Best bet currently is to have everything made by manufacturers who possess an FAA approval and then go to local authorities.

May i suggest that you check out www.air-ambulance.lu

There are many certification agencies, some of the most known are:
AAMS Association of Air Medical Services
AMPA Air Medical Physician Association
Eurami European Aero-Medical Institute
EHAC European HEMS & Air-Ambulance Committee

CAMTS is also present in Europe, but only very few companies are certified.
