Assistance please.

My friend is heading for the northern hemisphere in December!! and although staying with family in Grimsby he wishes to fly to Stockholm. Is there an airport near Grimsby (Humberside?) with flights to Scandinavia.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

The only scheduled destinations served by 'oomberside Shellport seem to be Amsterdam and Aberdeen. All their other flights merely ferry the unwashed, tattooed and body-pierced dregs of society from one god-forsaken hell-hole of a council estate or other to some cheap holiday spot or other in order to drink themselves into oblivion.....

Your friend could fly Humberside to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Stockholm.

Don't forget to take him to the National Fishing Heritage Centre at Grimsby dock and take a tour around the Ross Tiger. An excellent and informative way to spend an afternoon.

Thanks BEagle... fortunately he's seen the light and now resides in Australia (Sunshine Coast) but he HAS to see the rellies!!

Thanks for the info on Ross Tiger... my friend Fergie's son's father in law was the last Skipper to take the Ross Tiger to sea. He has a most interesting wartime history having received the DSC for shooting down a Heinkel over the Humber in the early part of WW11 and also, during his time in the RNVR, as the master of an escort vessel in the North Atlantic rammed and sank a U Boat that was about to attack a US convoy. For this deed the Americans awarded him a medal, for which he most grateful, however he says "The Yanks will give you a medal for going to sea!!" Needless to say a character from yore.

Now BEagle you really wanterd to know all this, but my mate insists that I tell you. As you can see he is a proud Grimsby boy who used to pound the beat (as a copper - not what you were thinking) and played for Grimsby Town in the good OLD days.

Thanks for your help.
