Having seen an advert in a flying magazine recently for simulator expereince I was wondering whether it will give me an advantage when I come to apply for jobs with airlines??

This might sound daft but when cash is scarce you have to be sure before you scrounge and extra grand or so (where from??:} to pay for something.

Is it worth it or am I better just getting on with my IR and not bothering. Has anyone done it???

Is there any point in getting sim time in an airbus simulator if you are applying for a job flying B737's..

Wait until you finish your Instrument Rating, as you will get a hell of alot more out of a simulator session, than just flying the thing visually.

If you are applying for a 737 job, a classic 737sim will be cheaper than an Airbus so go for that. But most airline sim checks will be held on traditional equipment Non-Efis so your scan has to be up to scratch, hence why you should invest in the IR first.
