The only downfall is, once the RAID is rendered, you cannot transfer it to any of the hardware RAID controllers. Changing your mind this will always require reinstalling the whole array.
My current RAID 0 Array is on its 3rd mobo without being formatted. So the is still some advantage to sticking to a Hardware Solution. :ok:
