A refreshing change to the usual slanging match.
TCAS is at least able to answer questions in a grown up an eloquent manner. Get the feeling that he is only a small fish though.

As has been mentioned on other posts, I think the way ahead is for sensible dialog. Please gentlemen, lets put him to the test and take him up on his offer, write, e-mail or even drop in and see him.

I dont think that it was by any small coincidence that the meeting was held before the Dec rosters were published with the new credit system in place. I wasn't hearing things when they said that if you are in your top 2 bid groups, you should get what you bid for? Well I have had a sneak preview of my roster. I'm in my 2nd from top group. Bidded 1000 points against reserve and picked up a roster padded out with stand bys. The old system would have given me 95 hours credit - under the new system I get 58 !!

We've been shafted yet again.

ek slave (and aren't we all?)- don't worry too much about the standbys. I very much doubt you will get the chance to spend them sitting at home.

Hi,
For those of us who weren't there anybody care to outline what went on? Was working at the time but my profit share (allowing there will be one  ) would have been in jeopardy I feel. Prefer to hear FTHM rather than after its been given the Pravda or scRAMBLING;) treatment!!

Ekslave makes the vaild point that we must take TCAS up on the challenge of communicating directly with him. However, I similarly doubt that he will be able to do a great deal and I don't expect he will he will be putting his neck on the line for us...why should he.

Talk is cheap, and TCAS had the reputation of talking the talk in BA, but staggered all over the place when it came to walking the walk... One fundamental question he should always be asked is 'would you have accepted this in BA?'

It has been a year since the first meeting which promised the infamous 'review' followed by The Meeting where we were told in no uncertain terms how we are 'respected' in management. This feels like yet another differral; putting off tomorrow that which needs addressing yesterday...another false dawn...

How long will this now take 3 months, a year?

Me thinks that all former EK managers were ex BA.

They know very well that as a pilot, it is not that easy to change from one airline to another.

The fact that only a few leave EK is no reference but an indication of how difficult it is to manage your career, definitely if you are bonded and have given up you capt position.

On top of that they will tell you what you want to hear but act otherwise, that is how humans are. Just avoiding the direct conflict and using the power they have allows them to do just that.

Must be very frustrating.

On the other hand you should be happy to work for a company that will not go bust in the short term.
